The preparation stage for dental bonding is relatively straightforward. After the color is chosen, Dr. Russo will roughen the surface of the tooth and apply a conditioning liquid. These steps help the bonding material adhere to the tooth. The tooth-colored, putty-like resin is then applied, molded, and smoothed to the desired shape.
Once the bonding is in place, Dr. Russo will use an ultraviolet light or laser to harden the material. After the material is hardened, Dr. Russo will further trim and shape it as needed to refine the aesthetics, then polish it until it matches the sheen of the rest of the tooth surface.
